Booking and Rates
How much will it cost you to make a record with me?
Well, I can’t really answer that. The cost of a record is dependent on how long it takes to make, where the record is made, the preparedness of the band, expectations of the recording, etc. I can tell you what my rates are and I’m happy to give you an idea of how long you may need based on your project.
My rate as an engineer is $35 per hour. That rate applies to everything I do. I don’t charge more or less depending on who you are or who you know. It’s the same if I’m moving a microphone, tuning a vocal, or moving faders around.
The studio I work out of, Studio 1093, charges $850 per day, which includes my fee. A day is generally defined as 10 hours, but the day rate is given so you don’t need to watch the clock and worry about going over your allotted time. If it takes some extra time to get the job done, so be it.
If you’d like a tour of the studio or a rough idea of what it might cost to make a record with me, email me at richard.salino@gmail.com.
